Who Are We?

The Farnan Spirituality Center (FSC) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2022 in South Kansas City to help faith seekers advance their spiritual lives through Catholic traditions. The FSC welcomes individuals, couples, families, or groups to explore and deepen their relationship with God and others through one-to-one direction, small group mini-retreats, or discussion sessions based on books, films, articles, or topical issues of faith.

Farnan Spirituality Center is dedicated to religious and educational purposes by providing spiritual resources, direction, guidance, and counseling to anyone interested. You may contact Father Don Farnan, Director, at frdon@stjkc.org to arrange an exploratory meeting about your spiritual journey or to be directed to further faith development.

"I know the plans that I have for you, 'says the Lord.' 'They are plans for your welfare, not for your woe; they are plans to give you a future filled with hope.'"

In the mid-90s, he established The Upper Room, a nondenominational inner-city literacy program for youth and their families. He previously served on the board of directors for numerous educational and service institutions in and around the Kansas City area. Our Vision

Farnan Spirituality Center hopes that its resources allow it to provide all of these services to the public free of charge or at a nominal cost to use its charitable resources efficiently and to educate and provide religious guidance to as many people as desire to be involved.

In addition, the organization hopes that Churches, community centers, or other locations will provide meeting and worshipping spaces to the organization as needed free of charge or for a nominal fee.

Our Mission

The Farnan Spirituality Center (FSC) exists to support and accompany individuals and groups along their spiritual journey so they may strengthen their relationship with God and others.

"Praying and living deeply, richly,
and fully have become for me, almost indistinguishable. Prayer is being present,
sharing love, opening life to transcendence.
It is not necessarily words addressed heavenward. Prayer is entering into the pain or joy of another person. Prayer is what I am doing when I love wastefully, passionately, and wondrously
and invite others to do so."
